When Canadian singer-songwriter Sarah McLachlan launched her brainchild, the all-female Lilith Fair tour, in 1997, the pop world was not prepared for its phenomenal success. Featuring performances from some of the most exciting and talented female rock musicians in the world, the tour played to enthusiastic crowds across the country. Many of the stars--including the folk duo the Indigo Girls, the ethereal folk-popster Jewel, and bluesy rocker Sheryl Crow--got together and sang their hearts out in various duets. This video release of the tour also includes previously unseen backstage jams, behind-the-scenes footage, and candid interviews.

Mediocre Fair
I'm a big fan of Sarah Mclachlan but this DVD whilst seemingly promising is altogether medocre and contains nothing special or new.
This is a good concept and the atmosphere might have been great but this is not captured on the DVD. -

Entertaining
Entertaining and eclectic mix of perfomers from the female 'girls with guitars' genre. performance standouts include Shawn Colvin, Sarah McLachlan and Sheryl Crow. Just a pity it wasn't broadened to include performances from other contributing artists such as Patty Griffin and Emmylou Harris but for fans of this type of music, a must see!
