Just delightful!

Suspend your preconceptions of reality, sit back and enjoy. The characters are one of a kind and hard to forget. And of course, there's the amazing Steve Van Zandt!- Was this review helpful to you?

(3)Sopranos meets Wallander meets Twin Peaks
By fcmuk (6 reviews) , 21 Mar 2013I originally found this gem on BBC4 and quickly fell in love, and fell over laughing, at the quirky mix of subtitled and english dialogue. Little Steven - as I've known him since the 80's, gives a believable 'loveable rogue' performance and he also gets a writing credit. Lilyhammer arrives on the heels of other Scandinavian TV fiction. Perhaps without those police dramas, this series would not have kept an english speaking audience so well. There are surreal story lines included; with Van Zandt's character encouraging the viewer to cringe by proxy, at his cultural and linguistic ineptness.- Was this review helpful to you?
