Lima - Breaking The Silence
Lima - Breaking The Silence is a poltical thriller from director Menahem Golem. Hector Carpa (Darren Foy) is a Peruvian attending NYU and hoping to spread the word about the widespread pain and suffering caused by Peruvian president Fujimori's so-called "reforms". CIA agent Bruce Nelson (Bentley Mitchum), posing as a journalist, gets close to Hector using hi-tech surveillance gear to record Hector's conversations and comings and goings. When Hector returns to his country to take a more active role in the rebel organisation, he's arrested and tried, the tapes Bruce recorded for the CIA used as evidence to send him to prison for life. Hector's fiancee Helen (Julie St. Claire), worried that she's unable to contact him, goes to Peru with Bruce tagging along...
