Lipstick Jungle Season 2 is brilliant, it just gets better and better!! It is completely different from Sex and the City as people always compared the two!!

I think it is better because it seems more realistic and so much fun!!

Shame that this is the last series as apparently it is not popular enough in America! :(

To be honest when I first watched Lipstick Jungle I didnt think it was good but after the first two episodes I was completely hooked!!!

Trust me, you wont be disappointed!!!

What an amazing series and such a shame it got cancelled. It's such a nice change to have a series with strong likeable women who are married. If you take away the money the issues the women have are very real to life and easy to relate to. The series is based on a book of the same name. The characters and situation in life has been changed slightly and I feel this makes the characters far more likeable. Loved loved loved this series.

Why o why do great shows like this end?! Follows 3 talented, glamorous and ever successful New Yorkers. Like sex and the city you find yourself identifying more with one particular character and seeing your friends in the others. Cannot help but love this show and every episode leaves you wanting more.

I loved, loved, loved Lipstick Jungle. I admired all the characters, loved their beautiful clothes, loved the setting in New York and was devastated that it only went on to three seasons.

The story line, I felt was real, interesting and above all the relationship between the three women was beautiful and special. A friendship to be admired. It actually made me cry seeing them together. I so miss the show!!

  • EVEN MORE CLUMSY SEX SCENES AND POLITICAL ATTACKS AGAINST WORKING WOMEN

THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS Show review anywayHide

This was actually a huge improvement on the first season, better production, scenes and dialogues but unfortunately it comes a little too late which I guess is the reason why this was pulled after the second season. So despite the improvements, what is wrong with this?

The actresses look stressed, tired and frazzled most of the time. The women in this series are attractive enough put not pretty or cutesy like the Gossip Girl, the OC cast or even the Cashmere Mafia cast, therefore in a superficial way when they cry they don’t look upset, they look unattractive so you can’t even feel sorry for them….

I wish we women had all this time but it is unrealistic to say that such high powered women meet for lunch with their friends so often. Why SATC worked and this does not is because it follows 30 something women who had the time for this. Why did they have the time?? Because they were not in steady relationships, married with kids etc etc. Desperate Housewives also works and the regular interaction between the women is plausible because all the women live on the same street. This is the very reason why Lipstick Jungle does not work. The idea that you would have these regular lunches when the women live in different parts of the city is insane-that is what makes this whole thing dumber than dumber. We would only be so lucky to have all this spare time!

It is all so depressing too despite highlights from a relatively sexy man Rodrigo who should have spiced things up in series one and not as late as in series two, we have women getting their eggs frozen therefore highlighting the end of women and natural relationships as we know them- so bleak and final. This show is about women who have it all but just can’t stop complaining. Career women can’t get or keep a man and those that have one have resentful husbands that do not support their wives. This is the message constantly communicated. Where did they get all this from? For sure there are a lot of jaded people around but surely it is not all like that otherwise all women would just give up and die. All the female characters do is talk about their work and their jobs, maybe that is the reason why they are loosing men…How would any woman feel if a man talked about his career all the time? Being successful doesn’t mean that you should forget what your real life is about and it should be about more than work and Lipstick Jungle does not show that at all.

Clumsy sex scenes between the Wendy Healy character and her husband are non-stop and cringe worthy. The series insinuates that men stay at home and allow their wives to have their careers when the truth is that in this day and age we don’t really have a choice unless they are going to give us a generous spousal allowance direct into our own bank accounts that I believe only footballer’s wives receive. So what are all these men ( Producers/ Directors/ disgruntled boyfriends and husbands etc) complaining about? How many men would give 50% of their salary EVERY MONTH to their wives as a spousal allowance without questionning what we are doing with the money? Not many, so the men need to stop complaining! They are giving us freedom and doing us a favour so we can have a career? What rubbish. In this instance it was the husband in series 2 that had failed to have any success in his music career that meant that the Wendy Healy character had to go out to work where she could earn a decent living for the family. If it wasn’t for her connections he would not have gotten a break at all- a factor he quickly forgot about as soon as he began to be successful. So the whole idea that women are leaving the house and family responsibilities to men is ludicrous and throughout this series that is what the male writers are suggesting. I think all career women would say that regardless of their career, the men often still leave them to sort out the house unless we leave them clear instructions and nag them to death! Even the nanny and childcare arrangements are mainly organized by women even though the men always like to think they are contributing and doing their fair share. I have to make these very political statements because this whole show is a political attack on women of today who have successful careers and whose husbands for whatever reason are not as successful and are bitter and resentful. So now do you understand why the ratings were not high enough to take this series forward into season 3?
