Not bad...By Dan Goodfellow from Kent, UK , 08 Mar 2005
[Highly rated reviewer]It's unfortunate that this movie was overshadowed by bigger box office draws last summer because it is, in fact, much better than you might think. Kathy Bates makes a good performance as an ageing talk show host; Holly Hunter is the shows' producer who is getting to a certain age and realises that she needs to move up the ladder, or at least leave an lasting impression. The villainous side of her chooses the latter, and the story begins as she takes the new associate producer, Brittany Murphy, under her wing, persuading her to delve into her boyfriend's PDA to find out about his previous lovers. As the old adage goes...be careful what you look for you just might find it! Ok, Brittany Murphy is no Meryl Streep, but she makes for good eye candy and the ending is priceless!

A little surpriseBy The KnightWatcher (629 reviews) from Gloucestershire , 01 Apr 2013RomCom about an insecure girlfiend who researches her boyfriend's history usining his palm pilot. i was not sure about it for over half the film but my advice is to hang on in there because it gets better and in the end packs a punch with a big twist and surprise ending that you will not predict. The film stars poor Brittany Murphy who was brilliant in this and you remember in 8 Mile, but sadly died young in 2009. In the end the film has more depth than you think and ends with messages and some learning.
Has potential but fails to deliverBy moonflower6 (22 reviews) , 30 May 2012Quite a good movie
This movie has all the ingredients of a great movie but it fails to deliver. It is very funny in parts but it seems very slow to get going and when it does get going it is a bit disappointing.
The plot is quite cleverly thought out but so much more could have been done with this movie.
Brittany Murphy is the star of the show she is brilliant and a really good actress it is very sad that she isn't here anymore.
It is worth renting it's just not as good as some other rom coms.
Rent this!By herbietasha (7 reviews) , 22 Sep 2011Brittany Murphy is brilliant in this film (such a shame she's not here anymore)
This film is funny and effective at getting it's point across and has an unexpected twist in it and finishes well without the typical sickly sweet predictable ending.
Quite a decent filmBy a customer from Farnborough , 22 Jun 2011This film took a little while to get going, but once up to speed introduced a few 'minor' twists to the story that kept you interested.
As the lead character continues to build up a picture (sometimes incorrectly) from the contents of the boyfriends PDA, it leads to more and more outlandish behaviour.
The closing section of the film was definitely the best and the eventual come-upance was priceless.
Would recommend, but not the best film by a long shot.

THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS Show review anywayHideAah - the dangers of delving into the mind and palm-pilot of your man. Sometimes you find out more than you could ever have thought.
Kathy Bates steals the show though with her Jeremy Kyle-esque show host.
