    Irritating rather than funny

So many people are raving so much about Little Britain. Quite why this is I do not know.

If this is meant to satirise communities in Britain, they must be places I have never seen and people I have not yet met. Knowing several gay people and a few transexuals, I can't see any of what Little Britain mocks in these people. It isn't funny, it's irritating.

Vicky Pollard is another irritating character with roots in a very questionable reality. Working for an organisation which often deals with inner city people this is something I have yet to see.

One star for Tom Baker's voiceovers and Ruth Madoc saying naughty words. Funny this is not.

The worst thing to come out of british t.v in years, I would never rent this and would not advise anyone else to either. It amazes me that there are people who find it funny. I'll stick with Futurama and the office thanks. Still waiting for a decent comedy to come along.

    Repetitive tedium

I got this out because I'd missed all but a few snippets on the telly and the hype says its funnier than anything anyone in the universe has ever done before!

There are about three sketches which are repeated the whole way through the series so it gets boring when you watch them back to back. If the BBC had made any other half decent sketch based shows in the last few years, Little Britian wouldn't have got a look in.

This is kind of a cross between The Fast Show (but not nearly as funny, original, clever or varied) and The League Of Gentlemen (but not as dark and creepy).

I'm sort of glad to have seen Little Britian just to say I've done so.

DON'T get this if you haven't seen it and want a really funny and entertaining DVD to relax to.

DO get it if you saw it on telly and found it hilarious but missed the odd episode.

    thoroughly crap !

I dont know what the fuss is about this series, when i rented it i thought i will be good cos evone keeps going on about it, but i just found it to be repetitive, boring with bits copied from other comdies ! it doesnt compare at all with other comedies like The league of gentlemen, it got nothing original in it and completely sucks ! if you watch episode one then its like you have watched it all cos in the whole series the same things sre repeated with minor adjustments!

    in one word, avoid !

    I Want That One!

Quite simply one the funniest, quirkiest sketch shows on British television in the last ten years. More inventive that Spaced, on a different planet of comedy to Bo Selecta!, Little Britain deserves to be seen by anyone who has ever watched a show like The Fast Show or The Office, and laughed themselves into hyperventilation.

    Excellent

Britain, Britain, Britain. What more can one say. Matt Lucas and David Walliams are superb writers and each episode gets better and better as you get to know the characters. Good Byyyyyeeeeee.

    Little new

Spoilt by the hype and too many people repeating the catchphrases all the time. We watched one episode and barely giggled as we felt we'd seen and heard it all before.

This stuff won't last the test of time so I hope they cash in now!

    Great Comedy Series!!

Little Britain, written by and starring Matt Lucas and David Williams, is THE best, and most original comedy around at this time. The characters (Vicky Pollard, Daffyd Thomas, Sebastian Love, Marjorie Dawes etc) are just fantanstic. My favourite scenes are with wheelchair-bound Andy and his helper Lou - just brilliant!! I can't praise it enough. JUST WATCH IT!!!!

    A great laugh

What can I say, 'yes, no, but, maybe' . If you have seen them on the telly and missed some episodes, or want to see them again - this is a must.

If you have never watched Little Britain, and want a good laugh, I certainly recommend this series.

I must now retire to the powder room, as 'I am a lady, you know'! 'Yes,alright'!!

    Little Britain looking back ...

Its so much better than the second series. The characters are more varied, some very ordinary and some completely surreal, but the situations provide the comedy as much as the characters do. Emily Howard works better alone in situations like being asked to give a push to a broken down ice cream van and inspite of herself (himself), being able to fix the engine. Also the extras are great. Rock profile is completely unique and really shows off how well David Walliams and Matt Lucas work together
