Little Buddha's big impact
By Stuart Viewer from Bristol , 21 Jul 2006[Highly rated reviewer]
I can say that I have seen the film twice and enjoyed it both times. The film makes you think and ponder; which is a good thing in this era. 'Little Buddha' runs on three levels: A modern search in the west for the reincarnation of a Lama, [which is interesting]. Next it challenges your own thinking on modern life. Finally it gives information, in a simple and clear way, on the origin of Buddhism and some of its wise teachings. I would say that seeing this film would benefit any thinking person.- Was this review helpful to you?

(12)Great movie
By a customer , 25 Feb 2013I admire both director's imagination and Keanu's outstanding job playing Siddartha. If you're a Buddhist or just want to learn something about other religion/point of view, you won't be disappointed..... One of my top movies ever!- Was this review helpful to you?

Beautiful portrayal of Buddhist Philosophy
By a customer , 30 Jul 2011This is one of my favourite films ever. The beauty and the symbolism is amazing, and it captures the essence of Buddhism beautifully. The filming and the timing of the production is perfect, it almost feels like a meditation.
I have seen it many times now, and never tire of it. I don't necessarily understand the casting of Keanu Reeves to this sort of role, but his part whilst central is minimal, he plays it fine and it does not detract at all.
That said it is not for everyone, I imagine that if you are adverse to religious teachings you might find it tedious, and maybe even a little daft. But if I like me you are open to philosophy and willing to immerse yourself in the film, I think you will gain from it as much as I do.- Was this review helpful to you?

Not that good
By salmanfan (143 reviews) from London , 05 Apr 2009It really is a dud, but I just look and Keanu and wonder why he signed to do it. Roll on THe Matrix.
If you are into Hinduism and Buddhism you will see where it is coming from, but really not with Keanu as the lead. Not convincing at all. Scenery is great though- Was this review helpful to you?
