Yes, we all know the beeb are globally dominant when it comes to period dramas -Dickens in particular - but I think this could be their best yet!!

  • A Dickensian Marvel!

Truly a terrific costume drama produced, yet again, by the BBC. Everything about this adaptation of Little Dorrit was perfection. The cast gelled, the script was superb and the costumes and settings really authentic. It is very difficult to single out any one actor for praise as all played their parts to a high degree. I suppose Claire Foy and Matthew Macfadyen must be set aside having set about the lead roles in such a professional way. This said, the talents of Tom Courtenay are also worthy of a mention as the part of Litle Dorrit's father which, included several character changes, was obviously the hardest to portray. A thoroughly great series that I would recommend to anyone into costume drama and Dickensian tales.

Beautiful adaptation of Charles Dickens Little Dorrit! I absolutely loved this from beginning to end.. Amazing cast, Matthew Macfadyen stood out and was just wonderful, i dont know what it is about him that i love and i always find that he 'does' period dramas so well and this was no exception. Every actor was brilliant for their role really bringing amazing life and depth to each character! From the looks and feel when watching it doesn't come across as a BBC made drama (even though they are always so well done) with a star filled cast and wonderful sets it didnt seem cheap and poorly made it felt rich and engaging! i loved it, it is a must see, a wonderful story retold in an even more wonderful way.

  • Excellent Dickensian Masterpiece

As many have said, Dickens is one of the best story tellers of all time and for me Little Dorrit is him at his best. Some may say Amy and Arthur are 'too good to be true' but for me it's nice to have characters who are so lovable for their unselfish behavior. This set comprises 15 episodes which kept me so enthralled I ended up watching them all in one go!

This is a high budget production with excellent sets and a stella cast of British actors and actresses - well done BBC.

How can you not love the bizarre Dickensian universe created by the Beep?! Bizarre but utterly believable. Matthew McFadyen stands out for me. He's sublime as the young man on a quest to right all wrongs. He's worth the five starts all alone.
