This is a charming, extensive and innovative Empire-building game, but I have a big problem with it. It is so punishing, even at a fairly early point, that I have bailed on the game. After often long trawls through dangerous territory, you will reach the boss and realise that you simply have the wrong make-up of classes in your party to defeat them, or you've taken too much damage along the way to ever recover. Yet the game will only let you continue from that point and with that health - it can be so frustrating at times. There's an awful lot of game overs and reloading a save from an hour or two back - too much for me I'm afraid. It's a tweak or two away from being a classic Wii game.

Suprise of the year. Packed full of charm, quirks, and fresh approaches to gameplay, Little King's Story was joyful to play. A breath of fresh air in 2009's drought of quality wii games.

  • Not very suitable for 10 year old girls

I should have read more of the reviews before taking this out for my 10 year old. She was a bit confused at first, but that is because there is never any information with rented disks, but I found some information out on the internet which helped her along. Then her king died without much warning which she found quite upsetting and she isn't really into armies and killing enemies (thank goodness!) so she decided to abandon the game.

This game is really BAD. The graphics on the WII are poor and look like something from the 70's. Gameplay was tragic and my kids played it for about 10 minutes max and switched it off. Do yourself a favour and avoid this game as you will spend more time putting the game on than playing it ( honestly ).

  • Suprisingly Addictive!!

I wanted to rent this game initially out of mere curiosity and I am so glad I did!! Not only does this game fool you into thinking that it's for kids, due to it's cute look (a trait which Nintendo is renowned for) but under the packaging is a tricky, game full of challenges and puzzles, all based around a story involving your character trying to conquer a kingdom, upgrading it at the same time.

I had to restrain myself from switching this game on every chance I could, as I would lose hours if I was not careful. The best thing about the whole game too is that you can play it at your own pace, your not beating a clock and you can complete them in any order you wish. The whole kindom is full of places you have to get to, but only with certain upgrades or fighting your way through. This is definetly a more strategic game, but still has plenty of action to keep all satisfied.

This is a truly enjoyable and excellent game, I know I will be adding it to my collection.
