Adam Sandler has parted ways with the assistant who allegedly cost him £800,000 in luxury car gifts. The funnyman failed to see the funny side of his sidekick's gaffe when he misunderstood the movie star's request for a matzo party to celebrate the success of last year's (10) Grown Ups. Michel Gondry 'to direct the Green Hornet'

Michel Gondry has been signed up to direct superhero film the Green Hornet, it has been announced. Best known for directing Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind, Gondry replaces Stephen Chow behind the camera. Chow will remain in his role as the eponymous hero's sidekick, Kato, starring alongside Seth Rogen, who is most famous for roles in Anchorman, the 40-Year-Old Virgin and Knocked Up. Oscar-nominated actor Kenneth Branagh and Little Nicky star Rhys Ifans will team up for a new Richard Curtis-penned comedy about two 1960s pirate radio DJs on the high seas. The Boat That Rocked will also be directed by Curtis, whose previous hits include Four Weddings and a Funeral, Love Actually and Notting Hill - which featured Ifans as Hugh Grant's flatmate Spike.
