SPECIAL FEATURES: Newly Recorded Audio Commentary Featuring Sir Roger Moore Bond 1973: The Lost Documentary ...
This eighth film in the series marks Roger Moore's first tour of duty as James Bond. Moore is up against the dark powers of voodoo in the bulky shape of Yaphet Kotto, while the more curvaceous Jane Seymour as tarot-reader Solitaire is on display as Bond's love interest. Boasting as many cliff-hanging moments as a Saturday-matinée serial, this tale of a plan to turn everyone into drug addicts allows Bond's adversaries — among them sharks, snakes and crocodiles — to be as mechanical as Moore himself. There are some splendid spasms of action, however, notably a speedboat leap that set a new world record, as well as the usual array of hi-tech gadgetry.
Standard tongue-in-cheek spy adventure with a new lightweight star and an air of déjà vu. Professional standards high.
I remember seeing this in the cinema in 1973 (twice). A bold and energetic transformation from the excellent Connery. It reset the interest in the secret agent series and set Roger Moore up for a succession of sequels, although this was his best. Good humour, excellent stunts and a cracking Louisiana Sherrif played by Clifton James.
A good film with Roger Moore again,Plenty of action and a good story, I love all of the James Bond films.

Richards played 007's love interest Christmas Jones in The World Is Not Enough, while Brit Seymour was Roger Moore's Solitaire in 1973's Live & Let Die. The two actresses have something else in common - Richards has signed on as Read more
