The most interesting ponits about this film were:

1. The three senior actresses Gale Sondergaard (AA Best Supporting Actress 1936), this was her final performance; Mercedes McCambridge (AA Best Supporting Actress 1950) and Ruth Roman (Sarah Siddons Award 1959)

2. The Art Teacher, Sid Berman played by Mike Kellin who died shortly after this film had been nominated for a TONY Award in 1956.

3. The film was originally called 'Echoes' and was later renamed 'Living Nightmare', perhaps because of the effect it had on the audience.

This is a pitiful example of a reasonable plot with a core of experienced actors somehow getting it all wrong. Unlike another reviewer I did watch it all but it was a sad experience.

It lacked pace, sincerity and the photography varied from dark to shifty.

The only light came from Nathalie Nell as a confused dancer come lover.

This film is for nerds and sad souls (myself included) only!!!
