    [Highly rated reviewer]

Not an ambitious film, but very likable within its limits. It explores the incestuous interrelationships on a film set where things are always going wrong, is therefore a 'film about the film business' with echoes of The Player. Some funny moments, revolving around the ever-brilliant Steve Buscemi.

  • An enjoyable lesson in film making

In its own way, this hugely funny movie captures the blood, sweat & tears of movie making as well as - or perhaps even better than -the great Fellini's '8½'. Steve Buscemi is near perfect as the indie director trying to contend with egotistical stars & inept technicians - his film having to be saved at the end of the day by his aged mother & a dwarf! The film festival interview with Buscemi on the DVD is also an instructive hoot.

  • A HIDDEN GEM. TOP ACTING WITH BUSCEMI & THE "Angry Elf" actor! PRICELESS LAUGHS!

ONE OF THE BEST HIDDEN TREASURES OF HOLLYWOOD. my sister who did film studies only discovered this film through her uni teacher and then told me. What a well kept secret. This is truly hilarious, absolutely natural, some of the best lines you'll ever hear and you really feel like you are one of them, trying to blo*dy make that film happen. Anyone who has a dark sense of humour and find frustration funny, will be in heaven. Steve Buscemi has since been one of my favorite actor and I am so happy he truly has made a name for himself now. he really deserves it.

  • Buscemi Wins Again

Couldn't quite figure out the title, but i've always liked Steve Buscemi and this is one of his funniest. Some genuine laughs at the pratfalls involved in making a film, especially on a small budget, as this one was made. The afterword by the director is unnecessarily smug, but hey this is America. Just watch the film.

I loved this film the first time I saw in the late '90's and wasn't disappointed this time round. Very funny particularly if you are interested in film making - and the character Chad Palomino is apparently based on a young Brad Pitt.

One of the best low budget films I've ever seen. Witty & very well acted.
