  • A Promising Debut

    [Highly rated reviewer]

Interesting variation on a theme: instead of the usual moronic high-school jocks out for sex, drugs and high jinks in a spooky old house, we get intelligent twenty-somethings out for sex, drugs and self analysis. They are in the old house to make a horror movie, but events catch up with them somewhat.

There is some massively pretentious dialogue, but this is imaginatively filmed with lots of energy, and the sequences in which this lot are actually making their film are genuinely funny. I'd like to see the director's next film. if she's made one. There's a lot of promise here.

I liked this film, maybe because it reminded me of my youth being at the same time. Discovering myself and being 'intellectual' or just pretentious was the order of the day in the 90s. I think this film will only appeal to a certain type of person who had there teenage to young adulthood in the 90s.

I'm afraid this film did not grab me. Pace was slow, with little going on.

    Filmed in the UK
