Turns your expectations on their head as the locals, far from trying to protect their beautiful village from the oil developers, cannot wait to sell it and get rich quick. Meanwhile the oil company executives sent to buy the place fall in love with it. The film is shot through with an appreciation and affection for the quirks and foibles of ordinary human nature that is life affirming and very funny.
