This was a good film to watch.

The subject matter was all too familiar and at times hard to watch, very well acted it demonstrated most,i f not all of the issues that gay people have to face throughout their lives's fact it covered a lot of the major bases.

Being Gay, HIV, Adoption and Religious prejudice.

One or more of these issues affects most gay men in society.

The only critisism that i would have is that the story was never finished,it left things a bit up in the air.

But may be that was the point of the whole movie.

The pain never ends.

Poignant, Moving & Thought Provoking

This is a well crafted and poignant movie that is well worth watching. The story is none too obvious to begin with, but everything falls into place as the story progresses.

Loggerheads is well written and beautifully shot and edited. The way in which the storyline is fed to you in piecemeal fashion makes a refreshing change, and certainly kept me on my toes. In general, TLA movies tend to be plagued by poor scripts and even poorer direction and editing. However, Loggerheads succeeds where TLA's other movies have failed. This project seems have been given the talent and budget it deserved.

My only criticism is based upon the lack of reasoning in the script relating to why Mark was so insistent on refusing HIV medications? Why did he not wish to live? The movie spends little time developing any clear reasoning why this character would so easily accept his HIV status, and choose to do nothing to save himself. Instead Mark merely makes a passing comment about the side effects of the medications and that they cannot guarantee life (I'm paraphrasing). Surely this cannot be reason enough?

I personally found the remark incredibly naive, and in fairness, perhaps this character was written to be this way. But if this is true, the writers should have at least developed the character more to give the viewer an increased understanding of his mindset. As it is, we find the character of Mark to be a drifter, and quite a mysterious individual who doesn't have much to say for himself.

I personally have a hard time in believing that he would have let himself die. The horrors of AIDS and the opportunistic infections that destroy any sufferer are awful.

This being said, this movie is a must see.
