Despite Greta Gerwig starring as lead role, Lola Versus is a movie that aspires to be deep but never quite gets out of the shallows.

[Highly rated reviewer]Dont do it. Dont read the stuff on the front of the DVD packaging. They lie. Or well exaggerate anyway. This is a vanity puff movie made to fill time and waste a budget. Poor.

Irritatingly pointlessBy a customer , 04 Aug 2013I really can't believe someone presented the idea of this film to a financier, who said, 'yes, let's spend lots of money on making the film'. It is ridiculously boring, slow, annoying, irritating, pointless and not very funny.
Its funBy open (368 reviews) , 04 Aug 2013Why the bad reviews on here? Ok its not a patch on Frances Ha but still worth a watch. Gerwig will be a huge star. Its fun silly and i liked it
Nice little picture....Greta Gerwig a real treat!By BrixhamBaggie (1 review) , 26 Jun 2013Wow...a lot of people really don't seem to like this! But, for me a decent little 87 minute production with some quirky performances including the impressive Greta Gerwig who does a nice job as the 'troubled' Lola. Has a good New York 'neighbourhood' feel and a great soundtrack with bands I've never heard of but enjoyed all the same. No, not a classic, but certainly not bad. I suspect that many who don't rate this are incapable of sitting through anything remotely meaningful or action free or without masses of CGI. But, if (for example) you've been around long enough to have enjoyed Woody Allen's stuff over the years, you may just enjoy this. I certainly did.
Slow lolaBy Pmacm (1 review) , 23 May 2013Seemed a very low budget film with poor acting The Pace was so slow I switched it off about half way through after I lost all hope of excitement.
very disapointing filmBy mickchip (4 reviews) , 21 Apr 2013I hoped the film would be better than the reviews I had seen but sadly not . I found the movie very drawn out and although the story was believable it got lost in its self as did most of the characters
