  • All too real life drama.

    [Highly rated reviewer]

An authentic and quite terrifying low-budget, high tension film about a 12 year old runaway girl who finds herself alone, hungry and friendless, sleeping rough on the streets of London. It is here that she is picked up by a basically good-hearted prossie, not only destitute and a drug addict, but scared for her own life, Reluctantly, she lures the young girl into a paedophile trap. What happens next is the basis of this Paul Williams film.

The little girl is played by Georgia Groome, a natural born actress of the same age. The tart with a heart, Lorraine Stanley, gives a wonderfully insightful performance into the highly dangerous and degrading profession of prostitution. The other actors...some more recognisable than others... all display great talent.

At times, this film is almost too painful to watch. There's a lot of violence; although much of it is implied rather than shown, and in my opinion, none of it is gratuitous.

Personally, I found this a thoroughly engrossing movie. Even forgot to snack. But perhaps you need to be in the mood for something really gritty to enjoy it.

  • Gritty perfomances from 2 starring female actresses

Pretty good movie that deals with lots of society's ugly problems.

The two female lead actresses act a blinder in this and although a bit of a budget movie, i never took my eyes off it because of the shock factor involved in the plot.

Worthwhile movie, not a blockbuster or even fashionable, but certainly quite gritty.

well acted but let down by unrealistic ending and the fact there isn't enough sex in the film

Confusing film to begin, but stick with it, a series of gritty flashbacks soon explains why these two runaways are in the trouble that they're in. Dark, urban, violent yet thrilling film that deserves to be seen, rent it !

Had no idea what this film about but it was a grea, gritty and true to life film. Like watching real life from the outside. Shocking and heartrenching, the storyline is very simple but keeps you interested all the way through. Would definitely recommend to anyone

hmm..ok, well it had be absolutely hooked from beginning to end. The acting was tremendous, sometimes perhaps a little too good as I felt genuinely queasy more than once.

the only complaint i have though, was what seemed to me to be a rather massive hole in the plot. uh, if your house got taken over by a couple of gun wielding mentalists & you got turfed out the front door, what exactly would you do? perhaps give the old bill a ring? apparently not. apparently you'd just go for a stroll down to the beach or something and forget all about it. did anyone else find that aspect a touch implausable? kind of put a bit of a dampener on the second half for me..

anyway, give it a go but avoid it if easily- or even not that easily- offended. this is not for the faint hearted.
