All too real life drama.
By a customer from Surrey , 06 May 2007[Highly rated reviewer]
An authentic and quite terrifying low-budget, high tension film about a 12 year old runaway girl who finds herself alone, hungry and friendless, sleeping rough on the streets of London. It is here that she is picked up by a basically good-hearted prossie, not only destitute and a drug addict, but scared for her own life, Reluctantly, she lures the young girl into a paedophile trap. What happens next is the basis of this Paul Williams film.
The little girl is played by Georgia Groome, a natural born actress of the same age. The tart with a heart, Lorraine Stanley, gives a wonderfully insightful performance into the highly dangerous and degrading profession of prostitution. The other actors...some more recognisable than others... all display great talent.
At times, this film is almost too painful to watch. There's a lot of violence; although much of it is implied rather than shown, and in my opinion, none of it is gratuitous.
Personally, I found this a thoroughly engrossing movie. Even forgot to snack. But perhaps you need to be in the mood for something really gritty to enjoy it.- Was this review helpful to you?

(311)Gritty perfomances from 2 starring female actresses
By uniqueness (77 reviews) from Glasgow , 09 Nov 2012Pretty good movie that deals with lots of society's ugly problems.
The two female lead actresses act a blinder in this and although a bit of a budget movie, i never took my eyes off it because of the shock factor involved in the plot.
Worthwhile movie, not a blockbuster or even fashionable, but certainly quite gritty.- Was this review helpful to you?

It's Dark n Gritty, but essential watch
By Oakwoodrich (16 reviews) from Romford , 03 Jul 2012Confusing film to begin, but stick with it, a series of gritty flashbacks soon explains why these two runaways are in the trouble that they're in. Dark, urban, violent yet thrilling film that deserves to be seen, rent it !- Was this review helpful to you?
