best tv western ever
robert duval is superb I have never seen him better.the whole story and the entire cast are outstanding this is television at its very best.Even the brilliant deadwood cannot touch this.TOP DRAWER ENTERTAINMENT.

Touching but rewarding
This is by no means an easy film to watch. It is however a classic, not in the sense of over-written and over-hyped, but a superbly written drama with real characters in it. Through six hours characters and story develop towards the poignant end.
