remember to get in series sequence
By a customer from UK , 06 Jan 2005[Highly rated reviewer]
It was not until I saw strong poison again I remembered that that was the first time Lord Peter and Harriet met.
Must of orded out of sequence, still it did not spoil my enjoyment
but for future watchers Strong poison, followed by Have his carcase, then I think Gaudy night but not entirely sure
(at least these are ones with Edward Petherbridge( A brilliant wimsey)as I remember)- Was this review helpful to you?

(5)Best in the Series
By a customer from Pembrokeshire , 17 Jan 2007I usually give a 4-star rating to most good TV 'whodunits but the row scene on disc 2 (3rd episode) makes this a definite 5-star. Superb acting and filming. Sadly, there are only 3 programmes with Edward Petherdridge and Harriet Walter.- Was this review helpful to you?

Classic Lord Peter
By a customer from Cotswolds, England , 14 Mar 2006Brilliant! As an avid Lord Peter fan I don't think Edward Petheridge can be bettered in the role and this story moves along much more briskly than some of the others (Gaudy Night springs to mind).- Was this review helpful to you?

Strong cast and excellent production
By Peter Brown from Devon , 17 Aug 2005Although I am a detective story fan and love Sherlock Homes and Poirot, I have resisted watching Lord Peter Wimsey for some years (mostly because of his name). I'm glad I gave up my resistance. The stories and characters are strong and believable. Edward Petherbridge is excellent as Lord Peter and Harriet Walter is charismatic as Harriet Vane. So far I have only watched the most recent series, but have been so delighted that I am about to dip into the earlier Ian Carmichael series. When watching the more recent series be aware that it should be watched in sequence: Strong Poison, followed by Have His Carcase followed by Gaudy nights.- Was this review helpful to you?

Simply charming
By grok from Lancashire , 05 Jun 2004A little dated perhaps but the superb performances from the leads carry it through. A highly recommended watch for any lovers of murder mysteries or period dramas.- Was this review helpful to you?
