EXTRA wordS about the bonus disc 4By CLAIREY from LOST somewhere in sunny SOUTH WALES! , 11 Aug 2006
[Highly rated reviewer]just a extra word about the bonus disc no 4. if your renting this dvd, disc by disc, i personally wouldnt bother with the bonus disc. the other 3 discs are fantastic viewing but no real need to watch this extra disc.ie disc 4
it is just that.... a bonus disc with, apart from the deleted sceens and a few other bits, not a lot else
so i would recommend, in your selections that you remove disc 4
all your doing is wasting 4 days... you wait on it to arrive, watch which takes about 20 mins!! then to post back on arrival day and then to wait for the following day for your next dvd of your selection after they get this one back!!
plenty more to be watching so dont waste time on bonus disc 4
THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE BONUS DISC NO 4 ONLY
ALL THE OTHER DISCS ARE A MUST TO VIEW BUT NO REAL NEED FOR THIS
I THOUGHT THIS MAY BE HELPFUL TO YOU ALL

For people who loved the last season:By a customer from Swansea , 14 Jan 2009Unwinding the conclusion of last season takes quite a while, as does integrating the new plot thread. But if you can stand the retreads from different perspectives this is quite a good continuation.
By now the characters can be really complex, without two much confusion as to why, with little elements of their 'good sides' twisted into negatives. The new guys are excellent, especially given the difficulty of matching the starting cast in terms of motivation, and I think this is due to denser flashback writing. Perhaps because we know how they work better now, the writers feel happy to leave more to hints and implications, which prove to be so dead on when you watch the deleted scenes.
People who loved the survival logic of the first season may complain at the shift in tone; I found some of the characters decisions a little dubious myself, but this is because the writers are moving onto Person V Person rather than Person V Environment, so I decided to begrudge them that a little unreality, especially as you can fill it in yourself with minimal plot changing. I almost wonder whether the show needs an advocate for this, just as the actors provide input on character consistency.
Now you may wonder about unreality in the face of the shows 'mythology', but it really needs the down to earth to stop it flying off into farse like heroes sometimes does. On the mythology front it's going quite nicely, mirroring the tonal shift I mentioned above, but the really juicy stuff is coming in the next half of this series, if you don't mind more symbolic-ish mystery that is. And if your watching lost, you probably don't!
