This is an 'okay but nothing special' documentary about the Galapagos Islands. I'm not sure why the islands aren't named in the actual title - this makes it all rather mysterious, as if we are about to whisked off to a Lost World inhabited by stop-motion dinosaurs and Doug McClure. Instead we get some good but unremarkable footage of the islands, and their flora and fauna. There's a fairly sound scientific description of the islands' origin, and the way plants, birds and then land animals - the famous iguanas - arrived. But I don't this adds anything to popular understanding of life on the islands or elsewhere, which is ironic given that Darwin formulated his theory of natural selection after visiting the islands. Also, I had problems with the commentary - a voice over artist who can't pronounce the word 'islets' correctly is probably in the wrong job. Maybe worth a look for nature buffs.
