Although the Tarantino influences are clear to see, this matt-black trailer trash thriller is an impressively nasty treat. Gil Bellows is the nice-ish convenience store robber who is forced to go on the run with his devoted girlfriend (an electric early showing from Renee Zellweger) after a raid goes horribly wrong. The body count continues to multiply as they are pursued by Bellows's old partner in crime (Rory Cochrane) and two psycho debt collectors, along with massed ranks of law enforcement. CM Talkington's direction is hip and amoral and the performances uniformly good, particularly horror icon Jeffrey (Re-Animator) Combs's deranged killer and Peter Fonda's voice-boxed drugs casualty.

Slick, enjoyably trashy exploitation movie that updates a familiar theme.
Compared to some of Renee Zelwegger's later films like Cold Mountain and Jerry Maguire, this is a bit of a shock. As a simple crime rampage film/romance it competes with the likes of Badlands, and of course it's not really as good.
Watty Watts and Starlene Cleatham are the lovers who're forced to head for the border when Watts gets involved in a convenience-store hold-up that goes wrong.
The film is pretty flimsy and, although not a violent as some later crime films, it's certainly not a pleasant viewing experience on any level.
I have watched this film quite a few times now and always enjoy it. There are some moments when I begin to lose interest but for the most part it keeps me interested and entertained. Gil Bellows and Renee Zellwegger have great chemistry and play off the rest of the cast equally as well. Rory Cochrane turns in a brilliant performance as Billy Mack, a guy who is having a really bad day and is on a hell of a lot of drugs. His continued nervous energy is something to behold. The highlight for me however (as usual!) was Jeffrey Combs as Dinosaur Bob. Along with Creepy Cody, these two characters provide the comic relief of the movie while still having some serious moments of their own. It's nice to see Combs in a different role than he is usually given and he absolutely revels in it.
The film itself doesn't really break any bounderies and isn't hugely original but it is well-made and well written, although at times the dialogue may seem a little to philisophical and complex. The soundtrack is catchy and the direction is more than adequate. Overall, it is a good movie, clearly inspired by the likes of Tarantino and works well in the 90 minute running time.
i liked this film it had some really funny scenes the words did not coincide with there mouths a pair of non violent bungling bonnie and clyde wannabees robbing and trying to dodge the local loan sharks withy some violent scenes was a film about a difference a robber with morals not one of zelwegger finest films
