    [Highly rated reviewer]

This thriller, dealing with the seedier side of sex, is uncomfortable viewing at times, but works, thanks to two strong central performances and a non cop-out ending. Engaging viewing, but not a film I'd likely watch again.

  • Mr Harrington, I'm sure YOU are the Love Object To Many Sir!

First off, I'm just going to point out how random it was when my account said 'you recently rented this, why not review it' because this was literally the first film I ever rented in 2008!

Anyway, on to the actual film.

I love Desmond Harrington as an actor, which is why I got this in the first place. It is a really good movie, pretty creepy at times but good fun as well. Well worth a watch.

But, lets be fair, as if anyone who looked like Desmond freaking Harrington would need a sex doll!

When I rented this I expected a cheap B movie horror so I wasn't expecting much. Turned out to be a good movie and well worth a watch, a gripping storyline and unexpected ending.

Right, first off, I would like to make it absolutely clear that I did NOT choose my username because of this movie - it's my username from other sites and it was chosen because I met a Desmond Harrington lookalike (right down to the little mole on his left cheek - I still can't work out whether it really was him or not - hope it was) in 1997 and he said I looked like a 'beautiful little doll' - lucky me :D

    Aaanyway!

I loved this movie and I do think that Desmond is absolutely brilliant in it - there were times that I was laughing out loud so much that I could barely breathe and yes, you guessed it! I've bought it!

Some parts are genuinely disturbing and some are toe-curling, but that's the idea - I'd definitley recommend you watch it!

While it is possible some of the reviews take this film too seriously, forewarned is forearmed. It is alternately hilarious and creepy. Given the premise, what else would a viewer expect? It may well be a comment about expectations and projections within relationships rather than just a weirdo and his... artificial companion. Melissa Sagemiller is substantive eye candy. She's an indie siren. Rip Torn sports a beard that makes him look like an extra from Planet of the Apes. Taking the risk to rent this title was worth it, as it is an effective antidote to hyped-up blockbusters. Very entertaining treatment of the material!!.

  • Quite a strange film!

This film began in a very quiet way and quickly became very strange. You have got to be into plastic dolls to enjoy this film although the ending was quite quirky.
