I never thought I would say this but...By RainbowJoBirko (123 reviews) from Derbyshire, England , 30 Dec 2010
[Highly rated reviewer]Having seen this at a preview today I really enjoyed the film, at first I thought it was just another rom-com but I was wrong! There is actually a really touching story running alongside the main story!
It wasn't until half way through I realized that it is set late 80s- early 90s, Jake Gyllenhaal was great and gorgeous as ever, it was nice to see him in more of a Romeo role to his more quirky roles he usually plays, Anne Hathaway was absolutely brilliant, capturing some real emotion and looking beautiful as ever! The storyline is great, the only thing I would say which I never thought I would say is there is a bit too much sex in the film, not the best thing to see when sat next to your mum!

Average film, enjoyable but not particularly funnyBy RoughEagleguard (3 reviews) from Bishop Auckland , 12 Oct 2011This was a decent film, although at some points a little stagnant and predictable. Decent performances from all the cast and while entertaining it wasnt particularly funny. However some good dramatic moments make this a pretty watchable film but it wasnt the comedy it appeared to be.
RomCom with sensitive issues, still funny thoughBy a customer , 10 Oct 2011I was expecting this film to be just another romcom, but it is quite odd, in the fact that it has some very serious issues within the storyline, but still contains humour throughout.I didnt realise it was a story based on the 'love drug' but as the title suggests it was! Worth a watch.
bittersweet love story with very real and very sad momentBy Beckysboo (6 reviews) , 09 Oct 2011Thought this was a comedy and it is funny but its more a bittersweet love story with very real and very sad moments. Brilliantly acted.
pretty average filmBy deborahe (10 reviews) , 07 Oct 2011It didn't really go any where. It was quite an interesting idea, a love affair between a selfish womaniser & a beautiful, interesting girl with the early stages of Parkinson's. Unfortunately it was so formula, so very predictable, and no surprises!
Left a warm tingly feelingBy a customer , 06 Oct 2011I as presently surprised at how good this film was. Maggie's illness was portrayed well though I am no expert. But the happy ending where love conquers all though too good to be true gave a warm tingly feeling.
