    [Highly rated reviewer]

For anyone coming to the Lovejoy Series for the first time, maybe you are like me

I didnt watch them when they were first on television and they have escaped me ever since.

However after reading a review on an earlier series which waxed lyrical about the East Anglian countryside etc I couldnt resist, so I tried this Series.

The whole thing is a joy to watch, it reminds me of the close-knit acting of 'The Sweeney', but obviously on a different subject, but the closeness and rapour of the perminent cast-members is infectious.

Ian McShane, Dudley Sutton, Phyliss Logan and Chris Jury all give affectionate and almost loving care to their characters and the storeylines.

They get on with each other and it shows and comes across in every story.

Each episode is a single story with the relationship thread of the main players running throughout and making the Series continuous.

Lovejoy, the loveable rogue antique dealer with the heart of gold. His alter ego, Tinker (Dudley Sutton) and the rock music mad goffer Eric (Chris Jury) make up the main team backed by the high class crumpet, Lady Jane Feltham (Phyliss Logan)

The countryside of Suffolk and Norfolk with its lovely old houses, mansions and byeways make the backdrop.

This is light entertainment at its very best, something you can watch anytime, either an episode at a time or the lot at once.

The quality of the guest stars is very high indeed, again reminicent of The Sweeney.

A wonderful suprise find for me, maybe also for YOU
