The character of Lupin the 3rd is best well known in the classic 'The Castle Of Cagliostro', which is the best (and most child-friendly) of the many films the character appears in. However, the other films, such as this one, are extremely entertaining in a similar style to Cagliostro, so if you've seen and enjoyed that, I suggest a rent of this one. The only real problem with it is a couple of scenes that stop it being family fun, so I wouldn't rent it for the kids (rent Cagliostro for that), but if you enjoyed the fun of that film and are a little more adult, this is perfect silly fun.
The animation is a bit bland in this movie. It neither reaches the heights of Cagliostro nor the current style used in recent Lupin movies.
The plot is average and there are some sex scenes that would make this inappropiate for children but this is a ok anime, just not the same level as 'Castle of Cagliostro'.
All the usual Lupin gang show up, some looking different than usual (short haired Fujiko?) and the american dub is not that great (as usual!)
