George Miller's sequel to the Australian hit film 'Mad Max' takes us to the post-apocalyptic wasteland of the Australian Outback where our hero must choose between defending the last shreds of civilized life or plunge himself into the depraved depths of anarchy.
Although the opening scene in this film starts off where the first one ended, there isn't much continuity between the two films. The first film is set in a rather civilized setting where Mad Max is exacting revenge on an average biker gang that killed his family. In the 'Road Warrior' there are no towns or any signs of civilized life other than a small group of squatters holding an isolated oil well and refinery. The settlers are continuously besieged by hordes of punks/anarchists on bikes and muscle cars who want the installation as a criminal base of operation. Although at first coming to the settlers as an opportunist only looking for gas, Mad Max finds his humanity and helps the settlers free themselves from their attackers.
This is a great post-apocalyptic film with some of the best car chases ever put on film. A fast-paced plot with a good script keeps the audience on the edge of their seats until the final showdown.
The best of the three, and a genre-defining and extremely influencial piece of cinema. As essential as Blade Runner.
Bring on part Mad Max 4: Fury Road!!
Meatier than the first film. Super but depressing look at how the world ends up after nuclear war.
ok so the first Mad Max wasn't exactly the worlds greatest film........however the sequel is far better. The whole post-apocalyptic world is truly visionary, given that there are NO major landmarks only miles upon miles of desert and road. This could be anywhere.........except most of the cast are australian! The film really does give off the feeling that survival relies upon violence more than wit. Though in itself not the greatest film ever......it's probably the best sequel when compared to it's forerunner. By this film Max has lost nearly all of his compassion for innocent life and simply wants to survive as long as he can. This bagged with a slight twist at the end that can almost be called predictable makes this an overall good watch.
The first Max Max was cerebral and showed how he became what he became. This sequel is more action packed and centres around a small band of people who have managed to produce petrol is a land where there is none.
Max helps these people against a band of marauding group of people willing to kill anyone for the petrol.

Purest eighties post-apocalypse petrol headed mayhem. You either love it or hate it. I love it.
Ultimate hero movie. This is the gripping tale of a band of nuclear holocaust survivors who are besieged by a gallery of villains in the Aussie outback. Classic sci-fi/western.
Have seen it many times and it's still great. A film that has some amazing stunt work. Enjoy!
Four words: 'Have you been on swings?'
Cannot be beat.
Any movie,
any time.
no doubt the best out off the three of the films mostly unknown characters but well worth the rental
