Now who'd like a cookie ?By JediSi (301 reviews) from Kent , 19 Aug 2007
[Highly rated reviewer]When Marty escapes from Central Park Zoo, Alex, Melman and Gloria begin a rescue mission to find and return their friend. However, they soon find themselves reunited, but.......on a ship bound for Africa. The ship is hijacked and they inadvertantly get stranded on a strange island. Here they learn what life in the wild is actually like.
A very clever and colourful animation that really is a beautiful piece of work. Lovable characters, great voiceovers and a superb plot means top entertainment for kids with a little for adults mixed in.

Great Family FunBy a customer from Worcestershire , 03 Aug 2010As my title suggests, this is a fun family film. The relationship between Marty the zebra and Alex the lion is sweet and lovely.
Enjoyable family movie.By MelSharpe (40 reviews) from West Midlands , 01 Jul 2010My kids and I loved watching this movie. It was full of very memorable characters and was entertaining from the very start. None of the usual 15 minutes of boredom before the fun kicks in. Just straight to the comedy.
If you've ever seen the Madagascar Penguins cartoon on morning TV then you'll know the humour straight off.
Definitely recommended viewing.

[Highly rated reviewer]Brilliant fun with a brillian cast, you can't really ask for much more in a film.
Defo recommended for a rent and without a doubt should be part of your dvd collection
Their a bunch of giant panzies!By MrKush (27 reviews) from London , 27 Jan 2010This colourful piece of work from Dreamworks tells the story of a close friendship between a Zebra (Chris Rock), who longs to be free in the wild, and a Lion (Ben Stiller) who's happy with a peaceful life in a New York zoo.
The movie follows the pair along their adventurous escape, where they find themselves eventually stranded on an island in the wild.
In my opinion this is a real Dreamworks triumph, that can easily hold its own against the more proclaimed Dreamworks pictures (Shrek etc.). The voice overs are where this film really excells. Sacha Baron Cohen, as the lima, and Ross Schwimmer, as the Giraffe, are two performances i really enjoyed and enhanced an otherwise very funny and hugely entertaining family film.
