Any Madonna fan will enjoy watching this film. The concert footage is breath-takingly brilliant. Then there is the behind the scenes stuff showing tit-bits of her life on the road and the people working for her. Her kids are particularly cute and Guy Ritchie provides a few laughs too.
The narrative of the movie is Madonna trying to show us how Kaballah, marriage and family has 're-invented' her and how her tour is aimed at making us 're-invent' ourselves to make a better world. (Bleurgh!) The only reason it doesn't get five stars is because she MURDERS John Lennon's Imagine and goes a bit too far in getting her message across.
Even if you aren't a crazy lunatic Madonna fan I would still recommend seeing this movie though.....
Another documentary about Madonna on tour, much like her 1985 film 'In Bed with Madonna', albeit a little less entertaining. The difference this time round is that Madonna is a much more mature, centred woman, with motherhood, marriage and Kaballah all combining to make her not so controversial. She doesn't miss the opportunity to bang her drum about her religious and political convictions, which is somewhat tiresome. But the film comes bracingly to life when it shows us the musical performances from the tour itself, only underlining what a great entertainer this showwoman is.
