    Madness gone mad

An entertaining a quite spooky study of a madman reduced to conversing, and taking instructions from, a ventriloquist dummy. You can see why Hopkins was eventually cast as Hannibal; There's something oddly unsettling about him. Love the final scene, very odd; is there a suggestion that the Anne Margaret character is similarly unhinged??

    Hilariously black

    How good is Anthony Hopkins...

Well, he's going like the clappers in this one. A charming and funny film, if a little undemanding.

    Contains some cracklingly chilling moments.
