A concert by weirder than weird French band Magma is always a remarkable experience. This one from 1981 is strange by even their standards. Sometime musically described as a demonic, heavy rock, Carmina Burana and singing in their own language, Kobaian, as well as French this is NOT easy listening by any means, but then if you were considering getting this out you probably knew that. What appeals here is the visual spectacle of Magma in 1981, affected by the fashions of that time: padded shoulders and shiny fabrics, big hair and eye-makeup redolent of Eurovision and Haircut100. It gets more extreme when the virtuoso drummer/leader appears dressed as Peter Gabriel crossed with Freddie Krueger with knife fingers and a curious angel like wing feature on his back. Enjoy, marvel at this, at what Man can do. Oh, by the way you will find the sound and picture is pretty much a transfer from very analogue video..... Check it out!
