When it was shown on BBC2 10 years ago, it achieved viewing figures in excess of 5 million. It recounts the true story of five heroic brothers, the Pandavas, who were destined to rule a vast kingdom. Robbed of their land and exiled by their envious cousins, an apocalyptic war begins. Along their spirtual journey, they meet sages, warrior kings, heroines and a host of celestial beings, including Krishna, a divine incarnation and the pivotal character of Mahabharat.

    TERRIBLE PICTURE AND SOUND QUALITY

    What a rip off this is. Looks like someone took out their old VHS video tapes and put it straight to DVD with no attempt to remaster it. Video drop outs, tape hiss, wow and flutter are all present. I will not buy this till some attempt is made to improve the techinical quality. I know this is possible, since the quality of the same serial is much better on Zee TV.
