Just Listen to the Voice

It is the personality of Mahalia Jackson that carries this selection of songs. The production quality isn't great with songs crudely spliced together. Mahalia performs alone in an audience-less studio leaving her to provide what little 'atmosphere' there is. Having said that she gives each song great dignity and power and the sheer joy in her eyes as she sings is the one redeeming feature of this dvd.- Was this review helpful to you?
