Disappointing!

I tried to get into this but it couldn't hold my interest. The music was fine - I'm quite fond of Rossini - but the characters, scenes and plots did little for me. It was as if Rossini was doing his party political thing, which was all right then but has no relevance now. Eventually I switched off and returned the DVD unfinished.- Was this review helpful to you?
