This is an intruiging film about an American art student (Perry King) who visits Paris and stays at the Hotel Ritz during a critical moment in World War II. As Germans take greater hold of France, the American suddenly finds himself living amongst a sea of Nazis at the hotel and enmeshed in their lives, playing a kind of double agent to them and to his Nazi-hating friends who have their own expectations. There's a nice compound of compelling elements in THE MAN WHO LIVED AT THE RITZ. For example, a thrilling, dangerous Nazi story; rich intruige in the French art world; and eccentric, glamorous and certainly not always likeable characters.

This is a competently made, competently acted film. Joss Ackland is great as the head of the luftwaffe and the rest of the cast is very competant. The story holds your interest more or less too.
It is nothing to write home about and just feels:
Middle of the road
Mundane
Middle-aged and
Mediocre
You must have something better to do with your time!
