    Utterly captivating

I watched this by accident at the cinema, and was soon telling everyone to watch it. While the film is based on a (albeit spectacular) practical joke, it has an immense poignancy which soon has you in awe of the perpetrators. There is a surprising depth to their motives which comes across in the movie. It's a must see, verging on a life changer.

90 minutes is a bit of a stretch for this wire

A great feat without doubt, and the footage of him walking the high wire in various locations besides the Twin Towers was breathtaking, but all the talking heads and preamble to the actual walk was somewhat dull.

The film would've made a spellbinding 45 minute documentary.

Man On Wire: James Marsh Interview

    • 28 Jul 2008

We caught up with director James Marsh to get the inside track on the making of his critically-acclaimed documentary. It follows the amazing true-life story of French high wire walker Philippe Petit, who, in 1974 illegally put a cable between the Twin Towers and spent 45 minutes walking across the rope. The film follows the run-up to the event as well as documenting Petit’s other high wire walks on the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Notre Dame. LOVEFiLM: How did you arrive upon Philippe Petit& Read more
