Do you like 80s buffont hair styles?
Does the sight of a shell suit fill you with awe?
Is Bruce Campbell a God?
Do you like your horror more cheesy then Mr Cheese's Cheese party?
If you answered yes to the above then this film is for you. I expected little from this film and it did not deliver that much but it was impressive enough.
A rogue cop is on the loose in NYU killing innocent people. The police think they have their man when they arrest Bruce Campbell. But is it a mistake? Will Bruce assure his freedom? Can a film contain more crimson?
Maniac Cop - a superior cheesy 80s horror, think Fright Night!
I'll be honest, I rented this because it had Bruce Campbell and Richard Roundtree in it. Ash from Evil Dead AND Shaft? Excellent 80s schlock poster? It'll be a blast!
Not the case. Campbell and Roundtree gurn and gnash their way through turgid dialogue and pedestrian camerawork in a thoroughly naff entry in to the stalk-and-slash genre that sprang up in the wake of 1978 masterpiece, Halloween. This isn't scary in the least and the make up of the baddie is rubbish. Forget this bilge and rent The Burning instead. Or Friday the 13th. Or, better still, the one that started it all: Halloween. .
Just not this. It's RUBBISH!
