The second part of Claude Berri's master piece carrys on from Jean De Florette, a good ten years further on in time. Though the film is not as powerful or compelling as the first part (it misses Depardieu who was sensational in the first installment) (of course he died in the first part so they couldn't have cast him) it is still miles ahead of most other films and the twist at the end bumped it up to five stars. And what a theme tune!
