Nostalgia

This is a Greek feel-good movie about more simple times in Greece bringing a feelling of nostalgia.
The story takes place on a Greek island where the popoulation is split into two rival parties. The one is with on the side of Captian Kosma and the other with Captain Giorgos. When the death of Captain Kosma his daughter Mantalena (Aliki Vougiouklaki) a very spirited and proud young girl takes her family situation in control. She makes her place in a male-dominated world. Mantalena falls in love with a son of the opponent (Dimitri Papamihail). This is on of Aliki's best films and she is awarded the best woman's role in 1960 in the film festival of Thessaloniki, Greece.- Was this review helpful to you?
