Disappointing
By a customer from Cornwall, England , 22 Mar 2005[Highly rated reviewer]
In some ways this was a beautiful piece of ballet and very enjoyable. But I was disappointed by the music which was just a piano playing and the thinness of the whole performance. It was not quite a documentary and not quite a ballet. Also reworking the ballet into more of a film style did not work for me. I have seen better.- Was this review helpful to you?

(2)Sounds like a rehearsal
By WestCountry (68 reviews) from Yeovil , 01 Feb 2011This is a short ballet - and there is no problem with that. The heritage of the ballet is impeccable - choreography by Michael Ashton for Fonteyn and Nureyev. Sylvie Guillam and Nicholas La Riche are excellent dancers and the music is by Liszt.
The grating problem is that the piano sounds as though it has been recorded in a small rehearsal studio - such that it impairs any enjoyment in this potentially interesting ballet.- Was this review helpful to you?
