Marsden Rail - 25 - Southern Region Steam

1960s views at Waterloo, Vauxhall, Clapham Junction and Nine Elms Depot show a wide variety of steam classes before the city is left behind. After Basingstoke and Salisbury, Templecombe is recorded in detail, followed by Yeovil, Chard Jct., Chard Central and Axminster, which is followed by Seaton Jct and Sidmouth Jct. Arrival at Exeter, where both stations are shown, is followed by film at Plymouth, the most southerly location in the programme. Rural locations include Bude, Padstow, Halwill Jct. and the Torrington line to Barnstaple, together with Wadebridge, filmed mainly in 1958, with 'Beattie' tank locomotives still at work on the Wenford Bridge branch.
