Blast from the pastBy Jack Pritchard from Magrathea , 10 Sep 2005
[Highly rated reviewer]I remember being avidly glued to the TV watching this when I was just 14. The science is rubbish but suspend your disbelief and enjoy. A fabulous production that really stuck in my mind and triggered my imagination. What if?

NIce to see it againBy Metaliant (64 reviews) from Walsall , 25 Apr 2012
THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS Show review anywayHideI can barely remember bits for a very long time and was glad that I found them on this site.
First the complaints, the speical effects, espeically for the rockets made the Buster Crabbe era black and white speical effects look like CGI and I swear I saw 2 moonsplanets in one scene. There were couple of scenes where it was daylight and then night time and then daylight/evening again. And those astronauts weren't wearing any kind of space suits unlike some of the films from the black and white films of the 50s and the 60s.
Besides these things, I kinda of enjoyed the story which is why I have only gave it 3 stars which made it worthwhile, otherwise I wouldn't have even looked at 10 seconds of it.
Not the best sci-fi film I have seen, absoutely not the worst one either.
The Martian ChroniclesBy GofWarks (60 reviews) from Radford Semele , 01 Apr 2012Based on some of Ray Bradbury's stories. You can tell that they were written a while ago in that they still thought that Mars might have a breathable atmosphere and intelligent life. Whilst the stories were good I did find the ending very inconclusive. The space special effects were not brilliant either. They reminded me a bit of 'Button Moon'.
Great TV series from yesteryearBy IM69 (151 reviews) from stonehaven , 11 Dec 2011Truly a good program to watch. I seen it years ago and it was very very good, especially since it was back then.
I'm renting it so I can watch it seemlessly.
CLASSIC TV SIFIBy silky169 (11 reviews) from worthing, england , 11 Sep 2011I have been looking for this TV series since i first saw it way back when it was first shownon TV, although i didn't think i understood what was really going on!! And it's even better than i remembered. Special effects aside (very blue peter, plastic bottle job!!) it's a great and thought provoking bit of early 80's TV SiFi. So anyone who enjoys their SiFi this is a must rental and a real treat.
Rent it now!!!By HeatherRuthDiane (9 reviews) , 01 Sep 2011Forget the fact that it's not scientifically accurate - this is brills!!! I too remember the original on TV and it's one of those series that belongs in the 'classic cult' category. Get it, you know you want to!
