Not what you would expectBy David L from Aberdeen , 09 Sep 2004
[Highly rated reviewer]I'm a big Martin Lawrence fan. I think the guy is hilarious, in his films and on stage. But this was very dissapointing. I was expecting light hearted stand up comedy, but instead got a very serious and depressed Martin Lawrence. He mainly talks about his life's problems, his devorce, and how he hates the media, but not in a joking way, rather in a dead serious way. He seems pissed off at life and wants to get things off his chest. Its a far cry from the days he was on def comedy jam. He seldom tries to make jokes etc, and when he does, its not exactly side splitting stuff. Im afraid i will have to give this one a thumbs down!!!

Not funnyBy a customer from Colchester , 27 Nov 2009This was like watching a cross between Eddie Murphy and Richard Pryor without any of the funny bits. I would rather boil my own eyes than watch that again!

Comedy Gold this isn't!By jayc79 (5 reviews) from St. Andrews , 01 Apr 2008I was really looking forward to watching this title. I loved Martin lawrence in Bad Boys, although his solo efforts haven't been that great except perhaps Blue Streak which I enjoyed. But i thought that his stand-up material would be a lot better - i was wrong! I didn't really laugh that much at all, I felt that a lot of the act was just him telling us about his recent bad times and that how we should just live our lives as much as we can 'ride this thing until the wheels fall off!' not a lot of comedy in this at all really.
If you're a die hard Lawrence fan by all means watch it. If you just like a bit of stand up comedy, try someone else!

Not impressedBy a customer from London , 11 Sep 2007Martin Lawrence is not very funny in this stand up and I like him in his movies so I was expecting him to be and was very disapointed that he wasn't. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
