A fascinating thought-provoking film, with probably the best soundtrack of any film ever made.
It is a surreal account of the collapse of society seen through the eyes of a faded rock star and the desperate misfits surrounding him. You get John Goodman at his best, a wonderfully sleazy Jeff Bridges, a terrific Jessica Lange, and Dylan in a deadpan Buster Keaton performance. Monologues delivered with relish by Val Kilmer, Mickey Rourke and others.
Best of all - songs performed by Dylan and his magnificent 2002 band.
Skip if you can only stand films that are painfully realistic. Huge fun for anyone interested in film, music or language.
