This really was the biggest pile of **** I've seen in a long time. Granted the first story had a few twists but the second was unwatchable so called 'comedy' and the third would have been laughable if it hadn't been so absurd. God as a spaceman with funny eyes! Paper thin plots spun out to breaking point to fill the time, buttock clenching sentimentality, presumably for the American audience, total lack of tension, risible special effects......I could go on. Do yourself a favour and watch reruns of Thunderbirds. At least the puppets can act.

  • OK, but a little dull

Features a selection of short episodes of varied subject matter. I found the acting to be pretty wooden and the storylines weren't good enough to compensate. It's ok, but nothing very memorable.

I caught the tale end of the first part late night on Bravo and was fascinated by it, so watched the rest of the series (It only ran to 6 parts) The idea was to be like the Masters of Horror series, but was on ABC (I think) in the US and dropped like a bomb.

Why? Because you need to WATCH it all, you can not tune in part way and follow what is going on. In some ways it was a throw back to the B&W Outer Limits, Twilight Zone etc, where you had a series of acts, requiring you to watch them all.

I have only watched the first disc so far, but it opens with the most powerful story of the series (A Clean Escape) in which Sam Waterston (Law & Order) gives an impressive performance and also has 'The Awakening', starring CSM from the X-Files and Terri O'Quinn (X-Files, Lost etc).

Watch with an open mind and take the time to enjoy these tales.

One foot note of a problem. Starz Entertainment, seem to be doing their best to destroy the presentation of their material. Look for my review of their Blu Ray Release of Halloween for more details on that.

Here they seem to have a complete melt down on presentation. The series was shot in Hi-def 16x9 and in dolby 5.1 Starz present the disc in 4x3 letterbox & in stereo, with only the most basic of menus/ chapters and no subtitles.

Come on guys, I thought this degree of non attention to presentation went out over +10 years ago!!!

Would have been a five star rating, reduced because of the poor presentation.
