This was a treat cos i hadn't seen it since i was 8 or 9 years old. Its laugh out loud silly but a hoot none the less. Especially if you were a fan in your younger days. Dolph Lundgren is wooden as ever and Frank Langella as skeletor is a great villian but with a perfomance not out of place in panto. Please dont take this film seriously. its harmless fun.
The acting is so woeful it's it's funny, the SFX budget probably cost about 72p and some pretty homoerotic undertones looking back on it (Skeletor is intent on chaining up and whipping He-Man, a blonde muscleman in baby oil and leather panties- need I say more?), but fun nonetheless. A good movie for those Sunday afternoon hangovers, some nostalgia, escapism and some side-splitting laugh at the unapologetic cheesiness about it all.
