If you don't go into this film expecting a nice linear narrative you'll be treated to very cool experience indeed. Lavant/Binoche are beautiful together, Carax and his cinematographer capture Paris in all It's eerie charm. The plot is vauge, there's an Aids related metaphore and some film noir type stuff but It's the imagery that delights. Lot's of advertising directors watched this I'll bet. ps The Bowie anthem Modern Love appears rather thrillingly.
