John Moore's new film Max Payne claimed the top spot on the US box office chart during its first week of release. The action thriller - starring Mark Wahlberg pulled in around $18 million (£10.2 million) to claim the number one spot. Mark Wahlberg and his Contraband director Baltasar Kormakur are to reteam for a new action film. Wahlberg hired the star of cult Icelandic film Reykjavik-Rotterdam to direct the Hollywood remake, which will be released as Contraband early in 2012, and the pair got along so well, Wahlberg now wants to work with Kormakur again on his next film 2 Guns.
