By the barely non-existent standards of movies based on videogames, Max Payne isn’t so bad. Yes, the plot is beyond predictable, a string of clichés from beginning to end. Max Payne shoots to top of US box office

John Moore's new film Max Payne claimed the top spot on the US box office chart during its first week of release. The action thriller - starring Mark Wahlberg – pulled in around $18 million (£10.2 million) to claim the number one spot. Wahlberg planning another graphic novel adaptation with Kormakur

Mark Wahlberg and his Contraband director Baltasar Kormakur are to reteam for a new action film. Wahlberg hired the star of cult Icelandic film Reykjavik-Rotterdam to direct the Hollywood remake, which will be released as Contraband early in 2012, and the pair got along so well, Wahlberg now wants to work with Kormakur again on his next film 2 Guns. The film will be another graphic novel adaptation for the Max Payne star - the project is a movie revamp of Steven Grant's comic book series. Read more

Will Ferrell is set to return to the big screen in new comedy B Team, it has been announced. Directed by Adam McKay - best known for being behind the camera for cult comedy Anchorman - the movie will see the legend teaming up with Mark Wahlberg.
